On August 26, 2008, the Kokomo Drug Task Force assisted Officers Chad VanCamp and Adam Martin on a traffic stop at Washington and U.S. 31 that led to a drug investigation.

2008 Police K-9 Olympics
On August 19, 20, and 21, 2008, the Kokomo Police Department sponsored four of their Police K-9 teams at the Annual Police K-9 Olympics conducted at Vohne Liche Kennels located in Denver, Indiana.

Welcome to the Kokomo Police Department's website.  We thank you for your interest in the KPD and for spending a few moments of your time with us.  We hope this website will answer your questions and provide you with useful information.

Chief Robert Baker has worked with the Kokomo Police Department since August 31, 1987.  He is a lifelong resident of Kokomo and graduated from Haworth High School in June 1980.  Robert earned an Education Degree from Indiana State University.  Robert has served as a Patrol Officer, an Active Field Training Officer, SWAT Officer, Officer for the Motorcycle Patrol, and Major. Robert and his wife have three children. 
 
The Office of the Chief is commanded by the Police Department Chief Executive Officer and consists of the Patrol Division, the Support Division, the Investigation Division, and the Professional Standards / Administrative Unit.

The Patrol Division is supervised by a Major and consists of the Uniform Patrol Section and the Special Operations Unit.

The Investigation Division is supervised by a Major and consists of the Criminal Investigation Section and the Special Investigation Unit.  The Criminal Investigation Section is super­vised by a Captain and is subdivided into two units:  Crimes Against Person Unit and the Crimes Against Property Unit. The Special Investigation Unit is super­vised by a Captain.

The Support Division is supervised by a Major and consists of the Community Services Unit, the Telecommunications Unit, the Inspectional Services Unit, the Training Unit, and the Planning and Research Section.
